Citizen Developer
July 19, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
$10.00
Susan Green is a committee member for the Geelong Quality Council and is the Head of Process for
Three6, a boutique process improvement consultancy. Susan is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has long
focused on process improvements within the knowledge workplace.
Susan has an interest in process improvements for digitisation and implementing simple changes in
processes to improve the customer and employee experience, while maintaining high levels of
compliance.
At this event, Susan will talk about the emergence of the Citizen Developer, a person with business
skills and subject matter expertise, who is able to use simple tools to automate and improve
processes.
Citizen developers can create a range of simple tools to improve their workday, from automating
common approvals, to creating full internal applications. Citizen developers are also able to utilise
and visualise their data in new ways, helping to make evidence based decisions.
These tasks can often be completed with minimal training and with tools which you may already
own.
However, there are considerations for organisations looking to implement a citizen developer
program. Governance and sensible guard rails are necessary to minimise risk. This session will
provide clear and affordable next steps for those organisations that may be looking to implement a
citizen developer program.
Susan will discuss the following:
· What is a Citizen Developer and what do they look like?
· What are some of the benefits of citizen developer and what are the challenges?
· What are common citizen development tools?
· What are the next steps for those interested in citizen development?
This event will be of value for those in information technology, process improvement, knowledge
management or who have an interest in computer engineering.
