During 2018 genU experienced an unsatisfactory level of shift cancellations for clients receiving individual support services. Due to these cancellations genU was unable to provide its client with the right worker at the right time.
genU reached out to Toyota for support. Together the companies applied the Toyota Production System to significantly reduce shift cancellations.

genU (formerly Karingal and St Laurence) is a Geelong based Not for Profit organisation dedicated to advocating for people with a disability, older Australians and those who are socially disadvantaged.
The organisation, through its MatchWorks division, also prides itself on being an outstanding national employment services provider, training organisation and employer of people with a disability through their Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs).
